La importancia de estas bombas de semillas radica en el aumento del porcentaje de germinación con respecto a otros sistemas de establecimiento de semillas.
Las semillas de especies seleccionadas por Meliflor son integradas en bolas de arcilla de un diámetro acorde con el tamaño de sus semillas. Una vez establecidas en el terreno o maceta definitiva, las semillas quedan a salvo de roedores, insectos, pájaros u otros animales que podrían, de otro modo, comérselas, eliminando así toda posibilidad de germinación.
Indicaciones de uso:
La mejor época para la siembra de estas bombas de semillas aromáticas es la primavera, con temperaturas por encima de los 16 °C. Si no las vas a utilizar esta temporada, puedes guardarlas en su embalaje hasta 2 años más en un lugar seco y oscuro.
En maceta con sustrato, se ha de encajar la bomba en la superficie del sustrato, dejando visible la mitad de la esfera de arcilla. A continuación aplicar un riego directamente sobre la bomba hasta conseguir hidratarla. La germinación puede demorar hasta un mes. Durante este tiempo es importante mantener el sustrato húmedo. Una vez germinadas las semillas, regar el sustrato con normalidad.
Para la siembra directa en suelo no controlado solo hay que depositar la bomba sobre el terreno y con la llegada de las primeras lluvias, la arcilla absorberá y retendrá el agua facilitando la germinación.
