Su formulación Light, con un NPK de tan solo 12-14-24, ofrece la ventaja de no dañar las plantas jóvenes por un exceso de nutrientes. Aunque la mezcla de tierra contiene nutrientes suficientes para las tres primeras semanas de crecimiento, dependiendo del número de plantas, y de las dimensiones de la maceta. Tras este periodo, para obtener los mejores resultados, Atami aconseja alimentar las plantas con abonos líquidos.
No obstante, puede ser fertilizada desde el principio con cualquier fertilizante, líquido o sólido, mineral u orgánico. El cultivador ejerce el control total sobre la cantidad de nutrientes que reciben sus plantas en todo momento. Janeco Light Mix sirve idealmente también como base para mezclas orgánicas en combinación con guano de murciélago, cenizas de palmera, humus de lombriz, etc.
Con Janeco Light Mix, las las raíces encuentran el medio ideal para su desarrollo temprano bien de semillas o esquejes.
